VR Game Development Module
The Brief
VR Game Development
In groups of 6 we have to design and create an entire game designed for a specific platform in 12 weeks. I could chose AR, VR or mobile to develop my game on and my final decision was VR as it held the most interest and challenge for me personally. In choosing this specific platform I have to utilise the properties that are specific to VR and deliver an engaging experience for my chosen target audience and all players.
The game must be free of all bugs and ensure that the system is stable and demonstrates all playable features included in the game. To ensure this there will have to be thorough playtesting involved and iterated upon. As a group we will have to take advantage of the hardware's unique properties and thoroughly brainstorm ideas for its peripherals and control mechanisms in order to incorporate them into our game. Our game should also include the appropriate amount of audio effects and be visually appealing to the player. Consistency is key and should be maintained throughout the game adhering to our specific theme and genre of game.
This individual blog should reflect and detail all my own individual progress and developments throughout the project, highly explaining my chosen roles and strategies. This blog will critically evaluate the entire output of the group as well as my own contributions. It shall detail the research, pre-production and all production stages of the project, showing all strengths and limitations and plans to remove the limitations to benefit the overall game.
